Ingrid Michaelson [Sing-A-Long Saturday]

Posted on: September 5, 2009

I’m a really big fan of Ingrid Michaelson.  I like that her songs are about being who you are and loving people for who they are.  She has a unique sound, which I love.  Her songs are always perfect, but whose are?  Here are some of my favorite songs of hers.

One of her most well-known songs is probably “The Way I Am.”  I like this song because it focuses on being supportive in a relationship and loving the other person for who they are.

But one of my favorite songs of her is “You and I.”

I also really like “Breakable.”  While the songs focuses on women, it does point to the fragility of both women and men when it comes to relationships, which is refreshing because men are often portrayed as tough, even in relationships.

Finally, I want to share the song “The Hat.”

Oh god I LOVE Ingrid! The Hat is definitely my favorite song. I saw her last year and she did the best cover of the Fresh Prince theme, it was so cute. Have you heard her new album yet? I’m still waiting to get it in stores.

[…] 2009 · Leave a Comment My plan for this weekend was to write about Ingrid Michaelson, but Laura sadly beat me to the punch.  Her post is fab, however, and I’m going to forgive […]

Yes, If you like all of those songs there are some great ones on the new album. I pretty much have had it on since I got it. And she also released 3 free downloads to people on her fan list that are very strange, almost unlike any of her other songs in the meaning behind them. I would recommend listening to Maybe and Everybody, although you may have already heard them on the radio!
